Who’s worse off – the snorer or his/her partner?
The person who snores is happily asleep, but wakes in the morning with a sore throat, and a lot of bruises from being prodded and asked to turn over…..Also, snoring can disturb the snorer’s own sleep patterns causing deprivation of proper rest.

If you have a cold or a nose allergy, once again, you are more likely to snore. Age can also affect muscle tone, which in turn can impact on your airways and cause you to snore.
You may also have a predisposition to snore due to having a long soft palate and/or uvula tissue at the back of your mouth.
You are probably thinking now that there’s nothing that can be done to help, that these causes are all physical. But its amazing how your mind can be used to help; You can learn how to respond to snoring sounds in different ways – the snorer can learn to notice when he is snoring and to roll over every time he hears himself snore, his partner can learn to find the sound soothing, and also to focus less upon the snoring sounds.
